Translating cinema into spectacle: bringing Mira Nair’s vision to the stage for Qatar’s first musical theatre production.
I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate on this groundbreaking project, helping transform a beloved cinematic narrative into a rich, immersive stage experience. Working across India, the US, UK, and Qatar, I was part of a truly global creative team, navigating tight timelines, cultural nuances, and the many moving parts of a high-stakes international production.
My role focused on set design, where I translated creative concepts into fully realised environments, developing 3D models, visualisations, and detailed technical documentation to guide teams across continents. From the early design development stages to the final touches on site, I was deeply involved in shaping a world that could hold the weight of Nair’s vision while resonating with an entirely new audience. It was a challenge, and a privilege, I won’t soon forget.
